Take action for Hunger Action Day
Federal funding cuts are slashing hunger relief programs — and the impact on our community is expected to be devastating.
With massive reductions to Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) funding and benefits looming, Second Harvest of Silicon Valley expects even more neighbors will be turning to us for food assistance and we have fewer resources available to help meet the need.
For millions of people across the country — including right here in Silicon Valley — this means fewer grocery dollars and impossible choices made between food, rent, medicine and gas. The most impacted will be those already facing the steepest barriers: children, seniors, students, low-income workers and veterans.
Thanks to the incredible generosity of our community, we are thrilled that we not only reached but exceeded our $100,000 match opportunity from United Airlines for Hunger Action Day — well before midnight!
If you haven't had a chance to give yet, it's not too late — your contribution will still be matched. September is Hunger Action Month, and with support from generous donor Arista, we will double the impact of donations up to $250,000 until September 30.

A generous donor has committed $100,000 to Second Harvest of Silicon Valley. 100% of this gift will be used to double the impact of your donation until September 9. Gifts received in excess of this amount will not be matched but will still help provide food to our neighbors throughout Silicon Valley.
